Inadvertent sabbatical

I haven’t kept this site updated as the LDC draft has progressed, and I really should have; it’s easy enough to do when the resources (document revisions, meeting records, emails) are to hand. It’s a lot more hassle to comb through them all later. One of these days I'll try to get around to it….

Peter Schmelzer did a test case using the draft regulations to see what sort of buildings could conform to the new codes. Basically, he tried to see just what could be gotten away with.
 
The slideshow starts with a re-build scenario on Washington Street and shows photos of neighboring buildings whose metrics were used to determine the "neighborhood compatibility" of the new building.
 
I think you'll agree that the results are enlightening - and show that we still have quite a way to go.
